If you want to keep your children entertained (and fed) over the holiday break, our Star-Chef Academy is worth exploring! Our cooking camp is mentored by Michelin-star restaurant chefs. Your child will have a unique opportunity to learn how to cook simple and delicious meals from scratch!

The love for food and cookery is universal. Star-Chef Academy’s culinary camps aim to make learning fun and simply delicious. Through the medium of culinary arts, a unique combination of instructional, experiential, and holistic learning is achieved.

Kids will be taken through a journey to explore flavours and textures, celebrate the world’s cultures, practice kitchen basics, identify ingredients, and prepare delicious snacks, meals and desserts. Our trainers are professional chefs from Michelin starred kitchens, and will mentor these young commis chefs as well as conduct daily workshops and masterclasses. The camp culminates at the end of the week with a parent lunch!

Chef Emmanuel Stroobant

Chef Emmanuel Stroobant

Chef Emmanuel Stroobant is the executive chef and owner of a 2-Michelin starred restaurant called Saint Pierre. He is an author of two cookbooks, Cuisine Unplugged and Vine Dining – White and has his own television series, Chef in Black, Chef in Black II and 36 Ways to Live. A keynote speaker at conferences in Singapore, such as Food That Heals, and in the region, Emmanuel is a passionate advocate of mindfulness and healthy living.

Head Instructor: Chef Gene Mok

Gene is an all-round F&B specialist, having taken on multiple roles as a culinarian and manager. His 15-year career started in the kitchen at Saint Pierre. With his entrepreneurial spirit, Gene successfully operated his eponymous “Selfish Gene Cafe” for 6 years. The cafe offered fresh, quality dishes imbued with familiar, local flavours using French culinary techniques. Gene holds a B.A. in Psychology from the National University of Singapore and is trained at the famous culinary school, Le Cordon Bleu, Sydney.
