Camp overview:

Esports camp focuses on learning about esports via hands-on activities and interactive game-based learning with game titles such as Pokemon Unite and Mobile Legends Bang Bang. This summer at XCL Camps, students will build on soft skills such as teamwork, communication, and leadership skills needed to thrive in the tournament finale.

Camp Activities:

Team Building Games, Team Dynamics:
Focusing on interactions between team members, students will learn about positive team culture and build rapport among team members via discussions and game-based learning revolving around soft-skills development.

Sports Activity:
Students will participate in physical activities to help them relate to the similarities in values between sports and esports. Theory Crafting, Strategizing, Team Discussions: This is where students will learn how to hold team discussions and analyse gameplay. They will take this time to critically analyse gameplay, opponents and other information that may help them during the game.

Tournament Prep Talk:
This session will help students prepare for tournaments. This portion will discuss pre-tournament preparations and Do’s and Don’ts during tournaments.

Practice/scrims: Students will use scrims to practice different skills and strategies discussed within the team in an actual match with other players. At the end of every match, students will learn to reflect upon their plays and areas for improvement.


Esports Academy

The Esports Academy is an initiative of SCOGA dedicated to engaging, educating, and enabling youths to achieve excellence through the medium of esports. They seek to build developmental pathways and provide opportunities for students to become esports athletes, coaches, managers, professionals and the leaders of tomorrow. They also engage the diverse stakeholders within the esports ecosystem in defining and recognising the essential standards that will allow the sustainable growth of the esports industry.

Soft Skills Development: Through structured activities, group discussions, and gameplay sessions, students will get the chance to learn about and practice various soft skills identified to be useful throughout life such as teamwork, communication, leadership and discipline.

Strive for self-improvement: Students will understand the need for a structured and disciplined approach to improving their gameplay as a team. Participants will also practice the process of reflection and feedback and understand improvement as being part of personal and professional responsibility.

Exposure to esports: Participants will learn about internet safety, esports ethics, and the currently popular games/esports titles genre. XCL Camps will organise a tournament for participants to pit their skills against other batches of students in the Esports Camp.
